Last night around the world, the lights went out for one symbolic hour. An hour to raise awareness for the global need to conserve. We celebrated the day by having a chocolate fondue party with our kids by candlelight. Earlier in the day, we went to ‘Horton Hears a Who’ and we were struck by the timeliness of the Dr. Seuss classic. A world up against an uncontrollable situation who finds the strength to work together to overcome. Love it! Plus, I totally love Seth Rogen and Steven Carell…here are our photos from the darkness…
A rare image of me…can’t you tell how thrilled I am to be having my picture taken
Georgia…our very own chocolate loving vampire!
And…TED. For those of you who don’t read my green blog…my husband has a TED. It measures electricity usage. Last night, he worked very hard to get it to read ‘0′. After we turned off everything that was obvious it still read this:
Bob calls that the ‘parasitic drain’…things that use electricity without you knowing that they are using it. They were actually hard to narrow down and took awhile before he finally got the desired result:
Makes you think about all the energy you are consuming without even knowing it.
These were all taken at 3200ISO for those who are wondering why all the noise(grain). I left it in there…

So, after receiving a couple of requests for dancing shots…I am posting some. As you can see, the Kimchee King has quite the moves and his bride knows how to dress the part! My husband has since decided we should take dancing lessons….hmmm…perhaps a thanks is in order somewhere!

So, the Kimchee King cleans up pretty well…he also knows how to cut a rug! Him and his beautiful bride of 50 years(can you believe it is even possible–look at these two) have won dance contests on cruise ships. BOY do they love to dance!!! It must be the key to keeping them so young in looks and at heart. Here are some of the photos from the day. There are lots because, well, I took lots! First, the happy couple…
Now for some of the family shots…
If the couple above don’t look familiar, you don’t read my blog much…they hired me for this event. And–I love this picture of the two of them.
With that many people, things had to get a bit out of hand…
And, a couple shots of the couple listening to the speeches at the reception…no dance shots–there just isn’t enough space!
Happy Anniversary!

This is the entrance to the Strathcona Farmer’s Market in Edmonton. I went there this weekend to photograph the Kimchee King of Edmonton. Really, I was in Edmonton to photograph the celebration he and his family had marking his 50th wedding anniversary. BUT…being a fan of his Kimchee(although, I must confess, not as big a fan as my husband)…I went to the market to capture him in action. He has been selling his Kimchee at the market for 20 years. PEOPLE–20 years!!!! This man knows a thing or two about commitment! He also knows a thing or two about Kimchee. Lucky for those of us in the know!
