Anyone need a mortgage broker? One of Calgary’s best mortgage brokers wanted some hip new photos for her website and advertising. We headed down to Stephen Avenue Mall to get the job done
If you are in the market for a new mortgage give Rose a call.

Because in my last post about sweet little ‘B’, we never got a really good look at her, I thought I would share some today from her newborn session this weekend. Isn’t she the sweetest? Such a sweet little bird.

So, I thought I’d share a couple more of my favorites. I know that they are not my usual bright, cheery thing, but…I love the peaceful quality of them. I also know that I’ve been posting a lot of black and white lately. hmmm….can you say ‘itchin’ for spring?’ I need me some color! So, with that said, I have opened up my availability through to July and am including some weeknight sessions. I want to say that there isn’t going to be much room in August, so if you would like a summer session, best to book now. I also have some Saskatoon sessions available at the end of July for anyone who might be interested. AND, I want to say that I would love to capture a family enjoying the Stampede this year–any takers?
So, on with the pictures…I just love these two…

Well, for those friends of mine who knew it was coming, it happened. Last night, I had the honor of being present for the beautiful birth of a beautiful little girl. Labour was short and the result was super sweet
The best part of the whole thing was watching her sisters witness the birth. The eldest girl even cut the cord. At 5 and a half years old. All I could think was that most of us underestimate our children. These girls were amazing. Thank you to this family for inviting me. And, I would LOVE to do it again. So, if you’re expecting and think that this is for you, please contact me and we’ll see if we can work something out.

Remember that post where I said that spring had arrived? Remember how cute the little girl looked in her diaper playing in the mud? Well, fast forward a week and a lot has changed! For starters, I think Calgary is FINALLY experiencing winter this year. All winter long, I kept thinking where is the snow? I guess it was just waiting for spring!!!! So, what better time to be stuck inside with a newborn? Well, the little girl in my ’spring post’ is now a big sister. Her wee, wee baby sister arrived last Tuesday weighing less than 6 pounds and measuring 18 inches(is that right? How can that be?!). Apparently, she sleeps all day and is awake all night, but not if I’m there. If I’m there, she’s awake. Regardless of the time of day. She was like the sleep nazi–no sleep fo you! So, no sleeping pictures. What I did get was a lot of this:

And, even more of this:

And, one pretty one of the two girls together…

If you make girls this cute, you should just keep making them
Thanks guys…hope the sleep nazi was good to you last night!

This is what happens when you ask a two year old to touch her mommy’s belly! Uh…a little south, dear(saying that makes me feel like I’m in college again). So, this was a difficult sneak peek to decide which images to share. It was a maternity shoot. She was pregnant(stay tuned for newborn pics real soon). There are belly shots, but I’m going to keep most of those to myself. Hmmm…why? Because, there were just too many and I had to narrow it down somehow! So, this is the only belly shot you get….I think it is totally cool though. Very Mother Earth!

The one thing I noticed about these two is the second he got close, she completely relaxed. I mean it was a visual thing–her shoulders dropped! It made me smile on the inside, so I’m sharing my favorite couple picture of the two of them. Aren’t they cute?

My favorite family pictures.

And, last but most definitely not least, my favorite little girl pictures…isn’t she adorable!

<

I decided to end it off with a little holga action as I haven’t done any in a while. I thought this picture made a cute Holga shot. So, that is it! I can’t wait to find out–boy or girl? Hmmm….

Georgia is here to say “Yay, yay…spring arrived today!!!!” Seriously. We are so incredibly happy that warmer weather has arrived that we almost peed ourselves. Okay…well, someone might have peed themselves, but it wasn’t me. How do I know that spring is here? Because parents are letting their kids do this and I didn’t even have to ask! Or worry that they might get cold or sick or, worse yet, look cold or sick in their pictures!!!!

I took so many pictures this weekend that it is going to be hard to decide what to share and what to keep to myself! This little sweetie will be back in a couple of days though because this was actually a maternity shoot, but, being better with little people, there were a lot of shots without the belly. I mean LOOK at how cute she is! How was I to resist? AND, that belly will be gone tomorrow as the sweet mom is going to be induced. Best of luck guys. I can’t wait to meet the little one!

So, after receiving a couple of requests for dancing shots…I am posting some. As you can see, the Kimchee King has quite the moves and his bride knows how to dress the part! My husband has since decided we should take dancing lessons….hmmm…perhaps a thanks is in order somewhere!

So, the Kimchee King cleans up pretty well…he also knows how to cut a rug! Him and his beautiful bride of 50 years(can you believe it is even possible–look at these two) have won dance contests on cruise ships. BOY do they love to dance!!! It must be the key to keeping them so young in looks and at heart. Here are some of the photos from the day. There are lots because, well, I took lots! First, the happy couple…
Now for some of the family shots…
If the couple above don’t look familiar, you don’t read my blog much…they hired me for this event. And–I love this picture of the two of them.
With that many people, things had to get a bit out of hand…
And, a couple shots of the couple listening to the speeches at the reception…no dance shots–there just isn’t enough space!
Happy Anniversary!

This is the entrance to the Strathcona Farmer’s Market in Edmonton. I went there this weekend to photograph the Kimchee King of Edmonton. Really, I was in Edmonton to photograph the celebration he and his family had marking his 50th wedding anniversary. BUT…being a fan of his Kimchee(although, I must confess, not as big a fan as my husband)…I went to the market to capture him in action. He has been selling his Kimchee at the market for 20 years. PEOPLE–20 years!!!! This man knows a thing or two about commitment! He also knows a thing or two about Kimchee. Lucky for those of us in the know!
