Mother’s day this weekend…I couldn’t decide what to post. I thought about posting a big collage of all the moms I have had the pleasure of documenting this year, but then…well, I went with showing you one of my more recent mom sessions A new mom…second time around. I love that I was greeted by a fairy when I arrived for the session…we decided to keep her wings on. This is a glimpse of their life…

I know that I am behind in posting my daily pics for my May project. I promise that I am taking them. I think I will have to move to posting once a week though.

Oh! If you are a reader like me, I just want to say that I am volunteering this weekend at the big CBC used book sale. I will be reading in the Story Tent at 1:00 for an hour. Come and say hi if you happen by!

May 7th. Someone Who Inspires You.

I was all set to show an image I took of Bob yesterday while he got ready for Cubs(he is a leader), but then I uploaded the card and saw these images from Saturday night…Georgia singing with her dad and her uncle. The song ‘There’s a hole in the bottom of the sea’. My kids inspire me more than any single person on the planet…more than I thought it possible to be inspired by someone…and, this image truly speaks of that. Georgia was beyond shy. I mean painfully so. She has overcome that–even though she still has her moments which often seem like anger but are truly insecurity. She desperately wanted to sing to her Grandma as a birthday gift. The Pugh’s are a very musical family, but they also believe in practice…and Georgia hadn’t practiced. But, she proved tenacious so after a few minutes of working some details out, she sang her song. In front of a crowd of people. It was pretty awesome.

Mundare, AB. There is a giant sausage. Alberta and Sasktachewan small towns have this thing with large sculptures as tourist attractions. Mundare is known for its sausage. More than one night we have joked about sneaking paper mache corn pieces on to the sausage as a means of entertaining ourselves. If you don’t see the humour in this, well, I am not sure we can be friends Since we drove through Mundare on the 4th, I thought that this was an appropriate photo…

This is my cashmere wrap that I bought while in India. I have worn this almost everyday at some point in the day since I came home. It reminds me of India and keeps me warm…today, it made me wish for Chai tea. REAL chai tea….sweetened like they served it in the morning.

Just Me Sessions

I was going to call these sessions ‘Just the Kids’ sessions, but…maybe you want images of yourself. Headshots for your business. Or artistic maternity images. Or just cause…

I think it is perfect for kids who are celebrating a milestone–graduating from high school. Getting a spot on that sports team that they have been dying to get on. So many things…

This year, I am very interested in adding audio to my images. If you are interested in commissioning me to create a multi-media slideshow like the one I did for Georgia, I would love to do this for you. Just contact me for more details.

Thanks for all the lovely comments about the Georgia slideshow. We are immensely proud of both our children…and, of course, we think they are heartbreakingly beautiful. But, it is nice for a little girl to hear it from so many other people…we shared the comments with her. Today, she is overflowing with confidence which is lovely to see.
