Easter in Southern California

This series sums up what I love about kids…we woke up on Easter morning at our friend’s house in California. Their little girl(the seriously sweet and fabulous Sophia) was sent on an Easter egg hunt through a series of clues. She was thrilled to have Jack there this year as he could read them for her….and he did.  The routine went something like this–read a clue, everyone shout out the answer, look at Sophia for the knowledge of where said spot would be in her house, and Sophia would lead them to the next spot.  I love that she insisted on wearing her homemade bunny ears. I love that she insisted on carrying her blue bunny basket filled with random things that held the highest level of importance in her world at that moment…and, MOSTLY, I love that one of those things was a toy hairdryer. A toy hairdryer she actually pulled out whilst deep in thought over a clue and pretended to dry her hair. Multitasking at its finest. Thought we could all use a little giggle before the weekend

Happy Earth Day | Calgary Photographer

This is from a new series of images I have been creating for a personal project I am calling ‘Big World’. Yes…my boots are ridiculous, but it was so wet and cold and muddy that I had to take action I love how my feet look like they are standing on THE EARTH. They remind me that we are all treading on this planet and we have to tread lightly. Some of you might not know this, but my family lives in the solar heated community in Okotoks. It’s true. We are constantly reviewing our impact. Making little changes to reduce our carbon footprint. This is an excellent day to review your families’ green goals
