Okay…I know there aren’t 3 sisters in here, but there are the ‘Three Sisters’ in Canmore
I love going out to the mountains to shoot families surrounded by the natural beauty that we are so lucky to live near. It’s the perfect place for this family…and this was such a lovely session. We just went for a casual walk in the mountains and chatted about all of the adventures this family has seen–and they have seen some pretty fabulous adventures. It was inspiring
The mom is a photographer whom I met way back when I took the Jesh workshop. When she booked her session, she told me all about Momenta group with whom I am now going to India
When this session happened in early September…my trip seemed so far away!!!
I soooooo hope to get out to the mountains this winter…it is on my bucket list to shoot a family on a ski hill…any takers??
I’m doing a little dance of joy cause I have started to blog my September sessions…now that November is nearly here, but you have to take the little victories where you can get them![]()
Have a lovely weekend,

The last of my summer sessions…a lovely summer evening with a new ‘short and sweet family’ that started with dancing in their living room and ended with a bike ride to the park. This morning, it is truly starting to feel like winter…which makes me long for the green grass and blue skies of summer when I look at this set of images.

Images from a span of a couple of days…whale watching in the whale watching capital of the world–Husavik, Iceland. We attempted to do this in Reykjavik, but the weather was not on our side and we are so glad…we had a very successful trip seeing three types of whales. It was almost laughable as when we were leaving the harbour, the hostess reminded us that we weren’t visiting a zoo…that this was the wild and they could not guarantee we would see any whales. Literally a minute after she said that, we saw some harbour porpoises…and, then very shortly after, we saw 5 or 6 humpback whales. The humpbacks actually came right close to the boat which was very exciting. Then, near the end of the trip, we saw some minke whales–which was the kind of whale we had tasted in Reykjavik so this thrilled the kids to no end. I don’t think that images can even come close to capturing the magic of the experience…it was so still and quiet out there on the ocean. And, so frickin’ cold…seriously…but there was hot chocolate and cinnamon buns for everyone to enjoy.

I visited this wee little man out at his ‘home on the range’
