Favorite Family Images From 2012

2012 was a long year for me…large stretches of time doing personal work or taking care of personal business. Lots of self reflection and learning have left me more critical of my own work than ever before. Which is good…and bad. To sit and sift through all of my sessions from 2012 was a good thing. I thought I’d share a few that caught my eye…

I realized in doing this that I have so many sessions that I haven’t blogged…so a lot of these images are being seen here for the first time(aside from me and the families in them)…in the next couple of days, I promise to share my own favourites from my personal work(this might take more than one post) and my favourites from the weddings and couple sessions I have done. Which ones are your favourites?

Wondering what 2013 has in store for me…

So much variety, it’s impressive. I love the “famous” sisters from Times Square and the session of the family of five with the mother nursing. Beautiful!!

Project 52: Week Two: Mount Yamnuska

One of my favourite views in the world…it means you are going to the mountains. And, I automatically feel relaxed there. It also reminds me of a day 11 years ago when I vowed to love a certain fellow forever. This was the backdrop for my wedding weekend. I have maybe showed pictures of it before and I have maybe told that story before because I’ve been blogging for too long;)but this image was taken Sunday afternoon as I drove out to Canmore for a session and I left the grey skies of Calgary behind me;)What a beautiful sight it was…

Then and Now

This is from their first or second session(wish I knew…)…way back THEN:

And, then, this is from today…right at the end of the session when we decided to go outside for a few:
It is such a pleasure to watch them grow…and I will admit to getting a bit choked up when I saw how big they were this year. I see them every year…for the last 5 or 6 years. And, in their house they have a hallway that is the ‘Short and Sweet’ gallery…there are other canvases scattered around, too…a reminder of just how long it’s been. They grow too fast.
