Fall Family Sessions Begin!!!!

Yes, these people have been on my blog before. Yes, I said this the last time as well…these people know how to dress for a family session. Love the layers, the colors, the lack of matchy matchy, but still matching–know what I mean? Okay, yes, these are my friends. I’ve been known to rock out on Guitar Hero in their basement while waiting for their popcorn machine to make a new batch. Yes, I’ve had one too many glasses of wine in their living room on a Friday afternoon, but you would, too…believe me. They have good taste in wine as well as clothes;)

I have a tough time doing sessions for my friends. Here’s the thing…man, I feel a lot of pressure to get it right. It’s kind of like stage fright. I think I got it right with these guys. Thanks for the lovely fall walk(and the Tiger Tail Ice Cream–it really does taste like Fruit Loops, doesn’t it?). Hope you like your sneak peek…

It’s no secret that I love these shots where I cut the parent’s heads off. I love how you can see a family’s personality without actually seeing the whole family;)And, okay, the binoculars were the cutest thing ever. Seriously. You gotta have a gimmick to get on my blog!!!

And, yeah…I absolutely love this big sky picture. L-O-V-E love.

And, a nice family shot just cause I thought you should see more of mom and dad!

And, okay…Ms. Pac-Man. I used to rock that game at the arcade in West Edmonton Mall when I was a kid. Until they got Dragon Slayer…then I just watched all the cool guys play that one…cause I never did catch on;)Love the boots. Love the purse. Love the ice cream. Love you guys!

Indiana Jack

img_0956.jpg

My beautiful boy who always has a beautiful day for his birthday. Thought I’d share some images from his completely chaotic day! It was an Indiana Jones themed party with an adventure that started out with wrapping up some of the kids like mummies. It was completely hilarious!!! And, Bob would add completely messy!!! The pictures I think are so funny…they make me think of being in high school and toilet papering the principal’s yard(not that I did this, but you know…some kids do those sorts of things).

This year I finally got Jack sparklers as he had requested them. Well, it was weird–he was kind of scared of them and sat far back…then…
img_1118.jpg

Bob told him he could blow them out. We joke a lot in our house.
img_1128.jpg

And, Jack’s expression of pure happiness when he found out that we finally got a Wii(everyone has one mom). Of course, on our tiny TV I wasn’t sure if he would love it as much. Not to worry…he did.

And, my favorite image from the day–the last step of our adventure was a treasure box pinata in the ‘airport hanger’…I sat and waited. I think this image is soooo cool. I think I’ll print it for Jack’s room. See my kids on the far right(eta: uh, I mean left…or uh stage right…)? I think the party was a success…of course, all the kids loved it(hyped up on so much sugar that I think they would have said they loved ANYTHING!!!!)…

Goodbye Summer…

I hate to see you go. I wasn’t ready for autumn wind to blow…this song makes me think of the lovely Sheye Rosemeyer. Beautiful images. Beautiful words.

Calgary…today I feel like saying ‘Goodbye Summer’…man, autumn is here with a vengence.

It’s fun to see the images this year as he is not alone(as he was last year on the way to school). This year he ran all the way with his friends.;)That makes me so happy.

Sooooo…I finally did the draw for the itunes gift card and the winner is another photographer, Kristie Serra from Florida won the gift card! Yay Kristie!!! I’ll email you to get your address asap! I liked the contest sooooo much, I’m going to have another one for the month of September. This time commenters will be entered in a draw to win a Starbucks gift card–worth $20! So, comment away!!!!

And, oh…yes, I’m behind in answering emails and inquiries…some stuff has come up and kept me occupied. I promise to get back to you if I said that I would. I should be caught up by Thursday sometime. It’s tough being a one woman show!!! What can I say? Thanks for understanding.
